Good morning everyone,

Here are the measurements and assembly lay out for the die storage box that I made in Fridays show.

Measurements and assembly lay out for die storage box

Before assembling, cover the inside of the spine and fix the mechanism.
Stick the base and top to the spine-leave 1/8" gap either side of the spine to form the hinge.
Next stick the sides of the top and base to the outside edges, and then the sides opposite the spine will go along the outside edge of the base /top  and across the ends of the sides already fitted.

Line all raw edges and internal joins with black construction tape, or picture framing tape (which you can paint or use alcohol markers to alter the colour.
Paint either the complete box inside and out with black gesso and allow to dry or use black card stock to line inside and out before decorating.
Use clear plastic sleeves with magnetic sheets to hold your dies.
To store stamps  replace the magnetic sheet with acetate (use a strong one) or stamp out your images on card stock, then laminate and use the laminated sheet to hold your stamps, but I recommend putting the laminated sheet inside a plastic sleeve.
Hope you enjoy making it, please let me know how you get on.
Have a good week.
Maggie

Morning all,....

It's finally finished, my photo storage album that's for my niece who loves to travel.
It measures 10 1/4" x !0"x 4" and closes up as a box. I did use binding to help close the box but in hindsight it really doesn't need it as the box lid fits so well.
It is very sturdy as I used 2mm chipboard and decorated it throughout with the lovely "Cityscapes" collection from Graphic 45.
There are a total of 10 pages (20 sides) decorated both sides, with many additional flap pages, flip-flaps, pockets etc and each "page" has a large pocket which holds a large pull out  tab which can be used as a journal or more photo storage. I've only shown the front cover, side view and the album open at the first page so you can see how the sides drop down. I had so much fun doing it.
I will be moving forward with technology and will soon be able to show this and other albums onYouTube where you'll be able to see them properly.

More news...........

I will be demonstrating on Hochanda on Monday 20th (7 am  &1 pm ) using magic markers to decorate Johanna Basford 12" x 12" art canvasses which are fab!!
I can't put one down once I start and have to set an alarm as I get so engrossed.

It's a busy week ahead as I will be back on Hochanda Friday 24th (8 am & 2 pm) demonstrating products for "A touch of Eleganza" using stamps and papers from Studiolight.
I'll be posting sneaky peeks during the week.
A huge thank you to my crafty friends who are helping to make up some wonderful samples, we're having such a good time when we all get together, and its amazing how many different ideas happen as we "spark" off each other.
Thanks for dropping by and have a lovely weekend,
Maggie

Saturday 11 February 2017

Hi everyone,
Hope you're all having a good weekend.
Using Woodware stamps today and the lovely zig clean colour pens.
These are both the same card but where you can see pink circles  is where the colour changed after applying glossy accents.....wasn't expecting that, so shall be experimenting.
Almost finished an album, using Graphic 45 Cityscapes collection. I've made this for my niece for her to store her wonderful photos that she takes whenever she goes travelling.
I'll post some pictures once its finally completed - not much left to do.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and thanks for dropping by.
